• Consultation – Late payments: tackling poor payment practices

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has published a consultation seeking views on a package of legislative measures aimed at addressing late payments, and ensuring businesses are paid fairly and on time.

The consultation seeks views from businesses, trade representatives, and other organisations or individuals who are interested parties to the proposals. The legislation aims to address late, long and disputed business-to-business payments, and the use of retention clauses in construction contracts.
