Marketing Campaign to Encourage the Uptake of Flu and COVID-19 Vaccines this Autumn / Winter

The launch of the national marketing campaign encouraging those that are eligible but still unvaccinated to come forward for their flu and COVID-19 vaccines this autumn/winter. The campaign focuses on the need for increased protection during winter when there is an increased likelihood of catching both flu and/or COVID-19, both of which can be very serious. This is why people 65 and over, those with some ongoing health conditions and pregnant women are eligible for both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines this winter. Children are also eligible for a free flu nasal spray.

Adverts encouraging people to ‘get winter strong’ – featuring gladiatorial copy and content – will appear on TV on demand, radio and billboards, with further content across social media and in newspapers throughout the campaign, which runs from today until mid-December.

There are also plenty of materials for your organisation to use to get involved, which can all be found on the campaign resource centre Winter Vaccinations | Campaigns | Campaign Resource Centre (dhsc.gov.uk), and will be updated with all the content over the coming week.

Please find the press notice issued by UKHSA below in full. Please also find links to the UKHSA toolkit and which has all the key information and messages, and please do promote our posts on social media.
