What is a “Wellbeing Conversation”?
It is a supportive conversation between a staff member and their line manager, supervisor or Team Lead, which focusses on the staff member’s wellbeing. This conversation should take place regularly and collaboratively.
Why is it important to have Wellbeing Conversations?
Research by Mind (2013) has shown that 60% of employees report that they’d feel more motivated and likely to recommend their organisation as a good place to work, if their employer took action to support mental wellbeing. We believe that training individuals in roles of leadership to hold Wellbeing Conversations will encourage staff members to notice, reflect and help support emotional difficulties they may be experiencing. Additionally, having regular wellbeing discussions will foster an organisational culture of care and compassion in the workplace.
How is the training structured?
The training is delivered online or face-to-face, lasting for a maximum of 3 hours. There are interactive components including group exercises, reflective discussions and multimedia videos.
