LIVE-DEM, funded by the NIHR, is the largest study to be conducted in the UK on live-in care for people whose primary support need is dementia. The study is a collaboration between the University of Southampton, the London School of Economics, the University of West London, Royal Holloway, and other partners.

It is estimated that there are more than 3,000 live-in care providers in the UK. However, live-in care is a relatively ‘hidden’ service, and not much is known about how and why live-in care packages for people with dementia are arranged and sustained in England.

As part of the project, we are inviting CEOs, directors, or managers of services providing live-in care in England to take part in a short survey to understand:

  • How live-in care is delivered and funded
  • Service models and workforce for live-in care
  • Training and support approaches for live-in care staff

Survey results will help us to better understand live-in care and inform policy decisions that affect people living with dementia and their families.
