South East London Displaced Worker Pool and Recognition Scheme

South East London Displaced Worker Pool and Recognition Scheme

South East London’s Health & Care Jobs Hub, part of the SEL Integrated Care System, is supporting care providers and displaced overseas care workers affected by sponsor licence revocations.

We have a growing pool of over 200 qualified, job-ready candidates, many holding Health & Social Care diplomas or degrees. The hub provides tailored employment support, CV preparation, and confidence-building workshops.

As part of this initiative, a Recognition Scheme is being piloted to assist care providers with the costs linked to sponsoring international recruits, including:

  • Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS): £525
  • Immigration Skills Charge (ISC): £480 for the first year, £240 for each additional six months (for small providers)
  • DBS reimbursement (up to £50, subject to admin fees and eligibility)

To support fairness, small providers (under 50 staff, turnover under £10M, assets under £3M) receive 100% funding for CoS and up to two years’ ISC. Large providers receive a 25% contribution toward ISC costs.

To participate, organisations must:

  • Be based in South East London
  • Be CQC-registered and rated
  • Hold a current Home Office sponsor licence
  • Maintain accurate data on the Capacity Tracker
