Care consultancy wins prestigious award to bring national recognition to the sector

Leading care sector consultancy, Fulcrum Care, has won Best Turnaround of the Year at the highly regarded, national TRI Awards, the only program recognising and rewarding excellence across turnaround, restructuring and insolvency.

The company fought off stiff competition from some of the UK’s leading blue-chip companies to win TRI’s most recognised award. The win reflects Fulcrum Care’s position as a market leader in turnaround and restructuring within social care and the level of support and expertise they give to care homes across the UK.

The Turnaround, Restructuring & Insolvency (TRI) Awards is an annual celebration. This year’s ceremony reflected on the challenges faced by the sector in the past year as well as the future direction of the industry.

Tony Thiru, CEO of Fulcrum Care, said: “Winning this against the likes of EY and PwC is about the importance of the care sector being recognised increasingly and its far reaching impact in our society. We’ve shown it is possible to turn around care businesses, and the positive impact it has on the bottom line is just scratching the surface as the benefits to people impacted (residents, families, staff and the local community) is probably incalculable.”

The award-winning consultancy celebrated its fifth year in May, having helped over 150 care homes meet up-to-date compliance targets and improve their ratings following the pandemic. This included saving over 16 care homes from closure.

Tony Thiru added: “Every turnaround is unique and our team possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience to handle each type of situation, restoring businesses’ profitability, safeguarding clients’ positions and ensuring the best quality of care for residents. It is great to have our commitment and hard work of supporting health services during the pandemic acknowledged.”

Fulcrum won the award for devising a unique, new, sustainable, profitable business model for a Kent-based care home group by transforming an unused facility to support other local health services during the pandemic, whilst protecting the most vulnerable and providing a better quality of life for its residents.
