DH&SC appeal for your support – Data Access Project and Get Adult Social Care Data (GASCD)

Hello,

Please see appeal below from the DH&SC wanting to talk with care homes.

Dear colleague,

Thank you for your ongoing support to the Data Access Project and Get Adult Social Care Data (GASCD); your involvement is vital to help us to improve the service for you and your members.

I’m reaching out now to ask if you could please advertise a request for more care providers to take part in our next round of user research interviews? This is scheduled to start next week and roll into September. At the moment, we have enough local authority reps but are really struggling for care providers. I know that it is difficult right now because of the holiday season so anything you can do or suggest to encourage people to come forward would be really appreciated.

Key facts:

  • We want to speak to NIs and RMs who work for any sized care home and small-medium home care providers (ie 11-200 people supported).
  • The format is an online interview for up to an hour, at a time convenient to the participant.
  • We will compensate people for their time with a £ 75 voucher.
  • It’s helpful if the participant has already looked at GASCD but not essential. Instructions for logging in are on the attached.
  • The interview will cover reactions to new content in development for the service (not yet released) and any feedback from using the service already (if the participant has used it).
  • Interested NIs and RMs should email our mailbox on  GetAdultSocialCareData.team@dhsc.gov.uk with requested details set out on the attached.

If you have any queries about this, please don’t hesitate to get back to me.

Thanks again,

Wendy

More information

GASCD is a new free digital service developed by the government to give CQC-registered care providers and local authorities easier access to robust and relevant insight from different national datasets, to help improve strategic decision-making in adult social care. At the moment, only Nominated Individuals and Registered Managers can access the service. If you want to sign up, please see the instructions at the end of this email.

To keep improving the service in a way that is useful to providers like you, we need to hear your feedback to inform design and content decisions. The interview will ask for your views about new content being developed as well as any feedback from you about what you find useful, anything that is confusing, any gaps and any other comments.

These sessions are designed to be informal and collaborative – we’re not testing you, but learning from you.

We would prefer it if you had looked at the service in advance but this isn’t essential.

Your participation is entirely voluntary and you can withdraw at any time.

Recording and data use: with your consent, we would like to record the session to ensure we accurately capture your feedback. All information you share will be kept secure and confidential, be used for research purposes only and be anonymised in any reporting or outputs.

We are committed to making these sessions accessible. Please let us know if there are any adjustments we can make to support you.

For instructions on how to access GASCD, look for an email sent to all nominated individuals and registered managers in June from get.adult.social.care.data@notifications.service.gov.uk. This email was sent to the email address that NIs and RMs have registered with CQC. The subject was “Free DHSC Digital Service for Adult Social Care Providers – Sign up now”.

Later in the autumn, NIs with accounts will be able to delegate access to other members of their team.

Kind regards,
Get Adult Social Care Data (GASCD) Team
