More about the framework

The framework was developed to help care professionals use and benefit from digital technologies to support provision of quality care, drawing on recommendations from the  Adult Social Care Technology and Digital Skills Review.

What are the benefits?

The Digital Skills Framework has been developed to help those working in the sector to develop the necessary skills to both use and benefit from digital technologies in their roles. Social care employers can refer to the framework when planning staff training and it can also be incorporated into existing learning offers and programmes. It’s useful for individuals in planning personal development and digital upskilling to support their role.

Why is the Digital Skills Framework different to other resources I can find online?

The framework has been developed specifically for the adult social care sector and provides content, links and resources that are relevant to people working in the sector, at every level. There are links to videos, e-learning and other no cost learning and development opportunities. In addition, the framework has links to learning providers who offer paid digital skills training.

Who has been involved in the development of the framework?

The framework has been developed by The Digitising Social Care programme (which is a joint DHSC/NHS unit) in collaboration with adult social care employers, local authorities and learning providers. In addition, a range of sector stakeholders including Skills for Care and Digital Social Care were involved in its development.

This event will be run on Zoom.
