Below, you will see a DHSC letter regarding the development of social care training. Do please look at and contribute to this work.
Dear Workforce Advisory Group member
As many of you will be aware in December 2021 the government announced its £500 million package to support learning and development opportunities in adult social care. As a group you have helped shape how this investment should be used – thank you for your insights and input. We wanted to update you on progress on two projects:
- New financial support to help adult social care employers with the costs of continued professional development (CPD) for registered nurses and other allied health professionals.
- Financial support for employers to purchase learning and development packages to aid the career development of staff working in care homes, supported living, domiciliary care services and similar, including registered managers
We are now at the stage in our work where we are reaching out to the wider social care sector to understand how we can implement the best approach to deliver this funding and how it can have the maximum impact on employers and their employees.
To do this the Department of Health and Social Care has published a request for information (RFI) including draft specifications, and Crown Commercial Service (CCS) registration detail, which can be found by clicking on the link below
To ensure the RFI reaches the correct audience we would be grateful if you could share the above link with your network, to support us in receiving a plethora of information that will allow us to develop a beneficial and effective delivery model.
We appreciate your continued support with our workforce reform projects and look forward to continuing to engage with you further during the next stages of the projects.
Kind regards
Adult social care workforce development team at the department health and social care
