We are pleased to share that the four integration documents have now been published on Gov.uk.
As of the 1st of July, two statutory bodies have been created within ICSs – Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and Integrated Care Partnerships (ICPs). These bodies embed shared leadership and collaboration between the NHS, local government, and other partners at the heart of the strategic planning. However, the creation of ICBs and ICPs was just one step in the journey.
DHSC, in collaboration with NHSE and the LGA are therefore continuing to support collaboration and integration. To underpin this, we have produced a series of documents that set out the how partners should work together in these new structures.,. These pieces of guidance are designed to provide greater clarity and certainty to partners across the systems, while supporting them to meet their populations needs and locally driven innovation.

We recognise the Integrated Care Systems are constantly evolving and that more support might be needed as they mature and develop. We have committed to reviewing the Integrated Care Strategy guidance, and if necessary, refreshing it by June 2023. We are also engaging on the Health and Wellbeing Board guidance, and would welcome your views, the feedback we receive during our engagement period will be used to shape the guidance for final publication in the Autumn.
